Sharehouses designed for your first step abroad

English every day, but in a house where living together actually works. When cultures are too far apart, sharing a house just after arriving often leads to friction. Drawing on years of running homes and on what students tell us, Northpole matches students from Asian countries, so housemates share similar habits and use English as their common language.

  • English as the common languageHousemates come from different Asian countries, so English is what everyone speaks at home.
  • Close cultures, fewer conflictsSimilar ideas about daily life make sharing a kitchen and a home easier from the first week.
  • Separate houses for women and menEvery sharehouse is either women only or men only, so women can live with peace of mind.

Homestays are different: host families may welcome students from many countries, and some homes have no other international students.

Why students and agents choose Northpole

We manage our homes directly and stay close to every student, so small problems get solved before they grow.

Direct managementWe work directly with host families and run our own homes, so we know every stay.

Felt like part of the family from day one

They picked me up at the airport and took me straight home. At dinner my host family asked about school every night, and even though I was not confident in English, I slowly started to talk more. Being able to ask the local team for help in Japanese made a big difference.

Living in English became normal

My housemates are from Korea and Taiwan, so we speak English at home all the time. We have similar habits, so agreeing on kitchen and cleaning rules was easy. It is a women-only house, so I feel safe in the evenings too.

I saw everyday life in Canada

On weekends my host family took me to parks and markets, and I learned things I could never learn at school. Making my own breakfast surprised me at first, but I got used to it quickly.
